Datapipe Named a Visionary in the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Asia/Pacific

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – November 10, 2017  Datapipe, a leader in managed cloud services for the enterprise, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner Inc. as a Visionary in the 2017 Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Asia/Pacific. This report is the company’s most recent recognition; it was also recognized as a Leader in the June 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Europe.

“Datapipe has long set itself apart with its ability to navigate the complexities of the Asia/Pacific market,” said Robb Allen, CEO and Founder, Datapipe. “We believe that Datapipe’s inclusion in these Magic Quadrant reports is a testament to our ability to provide expert services for organizations of all sizes spread across the globe. We also feel that our recognition in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Asia/Pacific for the fifth year in a row is a testament to our status as a truly global organization.”*

Datapipe believes its recognition in the 2017 Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Asia/Pacific, is a result of Datapipe’s deep experience providing managed hybrid cloud hosting services for the enterprise; with the company among the first to support AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Alibaba Cloud with both infrastructure and managed services. Since opening its Hong Kong office in 2005, Datapipe has leveraged its extensive hybrid cloud hosting expertise to enable global organizations to expand their footprints in the Asia/Pacific market, as well as Asia/Pacific organizations venturing abroad.

Recently, BMJ, a global healthcare knowledge provider, tapped Datapipe for its global expertise to launch its hybrid multi-cloud environment and enter the Chinese market using Alibaba Cloud. BMJ began working with Datapipe last year to move to a new, agile way of working through fully virtualizing its infrastructure and automating its release cycle using Datapipe’s private cloud environment. Through partnering with Datapipe, BMJ has implemented a hybrid multi-cloud solution using both AWS and Alibaba Cloud, and has transitioned from traditional print media to becoming a premier global digital publisher and educator.

Sharon Cooper, BMJ’s Chief Digital Officer says, “We see the People’s Republic of China as a key part of our growing international network. Therefore, we needed the technical expertise to be able to expand our services into China, and a partner to help us navigate the complex frameworks required to build services there. Datapipe, with its on-the-ground support in China and knowledge of the market has delivered local public-cloud infrastructure utilizing Alibaba Cloud.”

Datapipe is a leading provider of managed cloud services for the enterprise, with a broad range of hybrid cloud management capabilities; including the ability to orchestrate AWS, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, and its own cloud services on demand through a single pane of glass. Hybrid cloud provides enterprises increased flexibility and agility with a broader range of solutions to difficult infrastructure problems. Datapipe’s transformative approach to hybrid IT strategies enables its customers to innovate, optimize, and scale mission-critical and day-to-day IT operations.

In September, Datapipe signed an agreement to be acquired by Rackspace. Rackspace, a managed cloud provider, was also included in this Magic Quadrant. The two companies are evaluated separately in this Magic Quadrant.

The report was published on 31 October 2017 and authored by To Chee Eng, Kenshi Tazaki, and Arup Roy. To see the full complimentary copy of the 2017 Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Asia/Pacific report, click here.
