Datapipe One of the First to Achieve New AWS Migration Competency

Reaffirms Datapipe as a leader in counseling the enterprise through all phases of AWS migration projects

Jersey City, N.J. – June 8, 2016 – Datapipe, a leader in managed cloud services for the enterprise, today announced that it is one of a select group of companies to be included in the launch of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Migration Competency, a new core competency within the AWS Competency Program. As an AWS partner for the last six years, being among the first to be awarded AWS’ new Migration Competency highlights Datapipe’s deep experience helping businesses move successfully to AWS, through all phases of the cloud migration process including discovery, planning, migration, and operations.

"We’ve built a strong relationship with AWS since we first launched managed services for AWS in 2010,” said David Lucky, Director of Product Management at Datapipe. “Over the past six years, we have continued to hone our knowledge and expertise of the AWS platform, achieving AWS Premier Consulting Partner status in 2013 in the AWS Partner Network (APN) and becoming one of the first AWS Managed Service Provider Partners in 2015. Being one of the first to achieve the AWS Migration Competency further demonstrates our commitment to developing industry leading solutions and delivering unprecedented value to our customers running on AWS.”

“Our next-generation approach to managed services ensures enterprises have a clear roadmap when migrating to AWS,” said Robb Allen, Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Datapipe. “Our focus on consultation, automation, new technology strategies, and innovative execution methods allows us to stay one step ahead of our customers’ needs and act as a trusted guide, leading them throughout the entirety of their cloud journey.”

Datapipe’s expertise in AWS migration is exemplified through the company’s work with VSCO, an art and technology company that needed to migrate the recently acquired Artifact Uprising application to AWS from a non-native environment. Artifact Uprising trusted Datapipe’s expertise to advise the company on how to leverage AWS properly when planning and executing its migration.

“Our team is adept, but we didn’t have the bandwidth to take on this migration ourselves and we were looking for a partner who had significant experience with AWS as well as automation tools like Chef,” said Zo Obradovic, VP of Engineering at VSCO.  “Datapipe inspired a lot of confidence, and their team clearly had the technological expertise and AWS knowledge we needed. Between those two things, we knew they could help us migrate to an AWS environment that would be faster, more reliable, and cheaper. All three are pretty important things!”

The AWS Competency Program is designed to provide AWS customers with qualified AWS Partner Network (APN) providers who have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven success in specialized solution and vertical areas. The AWS Migration Competency is the fourth AWS Competency to be awarded to Datapipe. The company’s other AWS competencies are: Oracle, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Exchange. Each of these AWS recognitions are achieved only after meeting detailed program requirements, customer references, customer support review, and completion of in-depth AWS training and certification programs. AWS Competencies are only awarded to APN Partners, like Datapipe, that have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in specialized solution areas. Datapipe is also a member of the AWS Managed Service Program, which provides qualified APN Partners with technical and business benefits to deliver AWS Cloud services as business solutions to AWS Customers.
