A closer look at Datapipe’s Federal Community Cloud Platform

Yesterday, we announced that Datapipe has been granted a Provisional FedRAMP Authority to Operate (P-ATO) from the Joint Authorization Board (JAB) for our Federal Community Cloud Platform (FCCP) the first ATO issued to a Platform as a Service (PaaS) covering management through the virtual operating system and includes all security controls for both the virtual network and servers, giving agencies even more control than a standard Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) FedRAMP P-ATO.  But what does this look like for government agencies hoping to utilize private cloud and dedicated hosting environments for sensitive data?

FCCP provides a common interface, tools, and processes across multiple infrastructures and locations. Its modular design makes security the top priority while providing the cost-savings, flexibility, and customization government agencies and their partners need to meet their own unique performance and security requirements. Agencies can also take advantage of Datapipe’s hybrid cloud expertise by leveraging FCCP for highly sensitive information while linking to public clouds for other system functionality.

Key elements of Datapipe’s FedRAMP Solutions include:

  • Tailor-made, 100 percent private cloud environment
  • Zero-overlap architecture allowing for faster deployment and auditing times
  • Continuous monitoring in real-time
  • Extensive vetting of approved operators

This new level of certification will enable Datapipe Government Solutions (DGS) – operating out of its Reston, Virginia headquarters – to provide a secure cloud to government agencies working with sensitive data, and deliver the highest levels of security and performance set by FedRAMP’s stringent compliance standards.
