Operating System Management

Datapipe clients are assigned a Project Manager upon setup who acts as the point of contact between clients, Data Center Engineers, and dedicated Support resources. For the life of the solution, your Project Manager oversees technical setup, optimization, and troubleshooting. Solution modifications can be requested via the client portal to work with your Project Manager for a consistent and stream-lined support experience.

Windows Solutions

Windows solutions provide clients with a scalable and customizable operating system featuring simplified deployment and management capabilities. Windows solutions are comprised of physical hardware, private or public clouds, or a combination dedicated and virtual infrastructure. Clients save time, reduce costs, and receive a platform for a dynamic, efficiently managed solution through the use of online resources, management enhancements, integration features, and virtualization tools.

Linux/Unix Solutions

Linux/UNIX solutions provide clients with a scalable and customizable operating system featuring simplified deployment and management capabilities. Linux/UNIX solutions are comprised of physical hardware, private or public clouds, or a combination dedicated and virtual infrastructure. Clients save time, reduce costs, and receive a platform for a dynamic, efficiently managed solution through the use of online resources, management enhancements, integration features, and virtualization tools.

Dedicated Contacts

Datapipe consults with clients regarding tuning and optimization strategies based on analyses of performance metrics, including CPU load, memory usage, disk utilization, and swap monitoring data. Datapipe engineers perform all activities necessary to keep these devices in service including:

  • Patching and updating
  • Configuration changes
  • 24x7x365 monitoring
  • Performance and availability management
  • Fault analysis
  • General maintenance

Installation & Configuration

Datapipe installs and configures the Datapipe-supported build of the operating system on all client servers. Installation is performed using a pre-configured version of the operating system based on best practices. Hardening and further modifications can be attained upon request post-setup or as required through Datapipe’s PCI services.

Patch Management

Datapipe identifies available, vendor-supplied binary patches for supported operating systems and applications, and certified engineers install the patches on the applicable client or solutions. Prior to any operating system releases or patches being deployed, Datapipe seeks approval from client’s authorized representative(s). Deployments are executed within the appropriate maintenance window, if applicable, and Datapipe is responsible for applying all updates to base installation.

Monitoring

SNMP and agent monitoring of the operating system is used to determine system availability and to measure performance. Additionally, transaction monitoring and specific application-level checks can be utilized to determine system availability.
