Network Engineer – New Jersey

Fast paced service provider seeks network engineers who want to be challenged by a complex, high growth environment. As a network engineer, you will work with clients and senior network engineers to implement solutions, complete network projects, troubleshoot reported issues, and monitor IP networks by performing the following duties:

  • Implement network changes, additions, and reconfigurations
  • Identify and correct faults and provide resolution of network-related problem tickets escalated from the help desk
  • Troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Perform maintenance of network related equipment
  • Participate in occasional shift rotation and late-night network maintenance events
  • Provide network performance monitoring and analysis
  • Work with customers to design, and implement custom hosted firewall and VPN solutions
  • Escalate unresolved issues on Senior Network Engineers
  • Assist in the creation of processes, procedures, and documentation
  • Deliver projects as assigned based on skill and work load

Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of networking experience
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches and at least 3 of the following: PIX, ASA, CSS, CSM, GSS, Juniper routers
  • Intermediate ability to implement and troubleshoot OSPF, RSTP, IPSec, 802.1Q, PVLAN, subnetting, policy routing, ACLs
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must have strong customer satisfaction skills
  • The following skills and traits are highly preferred, though not required:
    • Perl and scripting skills
    • Demonstrated project management skills
    • Cisco and/or Juniper certifications
    • Service provider experience


Data Center Technicians – New Jersey

We have immediate openings for Data Center Technicians in Newark and Somerset, New Jersey. In this position you will install and maintain servers, network infrastructure and client solutions in a world class data center. Work with a team of system and network administrators supporting DataPipe large and growing hosting network.

Duties include:

  • Perform remote support services for customers.
  • Hardware installation including shelves, power strips, rails, cable management, and customer equipment
  • Report current status via the ticketing system, shift reports and email
  • On call via pager during unscheduled days or shift times for emergency scheduling requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Data center skills such as installing moving/equipment and cabling
  • Knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP/IP
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple project and priorities
  • Ability to lift 60-75lbs
  • Excellent written and communication skills

Minimum Requirement:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year experience in related field, or equivalent education.


We are looking for a motivated individual to support and maintain a variety of UNIX internet servers and applications in a fast paced web and application hosting environment.

The environment is UNIX with primarily Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris servers. The backbone of the infrastructure is a large Web Hosting Network that we designed, built and support. The primary responsibilities will be: Setting up, configuring, and maintaining internet systems/services, UNIX systems administration, software installation and configuration, problem diagnoses, performance monitoring, tuning and enhancement of production and development systems and interacting with our clients to provide technical assistance.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Minimum Two Years Experience
  • Strong desire to learn new technologies
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Linux, FreeBSD, and other UNIX-based operating systems (installation and configuration).
  • Experience setting up and maintaining common internet services: HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, DNS, FTP, SSH, and Database services.
  • Installation and configuration of internet software: Apache, BIND, Sendmail, Qmail, PHP.
  • Ability to develop/engineer/recommend solutions to technical problems.
  • Ability to debug complex technical problems with minimum supervision.
  • Basic scripting ability: Perl, Shell scripting.
  • Working knowledge of Qmail is a plus.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking protocol and applications.
